A Big Messy Play Date offers children opportunities to get messy (be messy), using materials which may not be available at home (due to the mess!!). We make available play dough, water, mud/clay, sand, rice and lots of natural materials, with some basic tools, so that children can have varied sensory experiences.

The messy play date offers families an opportunity to play together, exploring the various activities. Participation is open to all age groups.

Children’s participation in planning and delivery
The children of our volunteers are always involved in the toy library. On this occasion we ask them what messy play activities they might like for themselves and other kids. The children love helping set up activities and even help in packing up at the end of the session. Only children can be our toy and activities testers!
