Event Details

Possum Club Playgroup has invited unique Australian musician Lizzie Young, who plays the violin, sings popular children’s songs and plays dress ups, to host a special LizzieLand Children’s Rights Celebration. Lizzie sings a special song entitled ’He’s a Cockatoo’ by Don Spenser. The chorus is:
“Its a Cockatoo – and he will talk to you,
Or imitate any sound you want him to.
Its a cockatoo – hes Aussie through and through.
Its a Hello cocky – have a cracker,
Hello cocky – whats the matter.
Its a sulphur crested cockatoo.”
In line with this years’ theme that ’All children have the right to a standard of living that supports their well-being and healthy development’, children will learn about the importance of conserving wildlife habitat whilst making cockatoo headbands to wear during the concert. The children will trace around their hands onto yellow cardboard to make the crest of the cockatoo and their parents will help them to attach the crest to white headbands.
