At Benaraby Playgroup we are all about enabling our young people the chance to build friendships and develop social skills in a safe and inclusive setting. The right to play, the right to freedom of expression, and the right to education and holistic development are all rights that our playgroup actively promotes each week. This year in conjunction with the Benaraby State Schools ’Welcome to Prep Orientation Day’, our playgroup is going to run a playgroup open day.
In consultation with our regular playgroup member�s, we have discovered that the children currently have a strong interest in role/pretend play and hence our reason for choosing this year�s theme ’Dress Up Play’. Unfortunately, as our playgroup currently has very limited resources that allow children to dive deeply into this type of play. When role/pretend playing, children use their imaginations and it encourages them to share, take turns and cooperate, which contribute to developing their social skills. Imaginative play lets children explore different aspects of their personalities, allows them to process their own emotions and exposes them to roles others play within their community.
So that we can ensure all our children have the right to a standard of living that supports their wellbeing and healthy development, Benaraby Playgroup would love to purchase a range of new costumes, equipment that expands our children�s understand of the world around them and how to navigate it in a healthy way, as well as some quality storage to keep these resources in the best condition for as long as possible.
