Children’s Week Awards – Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the participation in the Children’s Week Awards, administered by the Children’s Rights Alliance Inc. trading as Children’s Rights Queensland. By entering the Children’s Week Awards, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions and confirm that you have thoroughly reviewed and understood them.

  1. Eligibility
    1.1 Who Can Enter:
    The Children’s Week Awards are open to both organisations and individuals based in Queensland, Australia, who meet the specific eligibility criteria outlined in the award categories.
    1.2 Age and Residency Requirements: All nominees must reside in Queensland, Australia, to be eligible for consideration. Previous winners are not eligible to nominate in an Award category they have already won.
  2. Entry Submission
    2.1 Submission Deadline:
    All award entries must be submitted electronically via the official Children’s Week Awards website before the stated submission deadline. Entries received after the deadline will not be accepted. Neither Children’s Rights Queensland nor the judging panel will be responsible for lost, delayed, misplaced, or incomplete entries.
    2.2 Nomination Form:
    Entries must be submitted using the ‘Nomination Form’ available on the official Children’s Week Awards website. Supporting documents and photographs, where relevant, must be attached with your nomination. Entries submitted via other means (such as postal mail, fax, or hand delivery) will not be considered.
    2.3 Language Requirement: All entries must be submitted in English.
  3. Withdrawal of Entries
    3.1 Requesting Withdrawal:
    Entrants have the option to request the withdrawal of their entries prior to judging. After this time, entries may no longer be withdrawn.
  4. Entry Details and Use of Information
    4.1 Sharing of Information:
    By entering the Children’s Week Awards, entrants grant consent for their entry details, including personal, organisational, and project-related data, to be shared with the judging panel and representatives of Children’s Rights Queensland. This sharing is for the purpose of administering and judging the awards, as well as for any other purpose to which the entrant has given consent.
    4.2 Use of Submitted Materials: Entrants acknowledge that all information, including supporting materials, submitted as part of their entry can be used by Children’s Rights Queensland, its funders, and sponsors for media, promotional, and marketing purposes, including but not limited to the CRQ website, social media, and print materials. CRQ will obtain consent for the use of information from an individual if they are nominated.
  5. Awards Ceremony and Finalists
    5.1 Finalists’ Attendance:
    Nominees selected as Finalists are strongly encouraged to attend the Awards ceremony and must advise Children’s Rights Queensland at the earliest convenience if they are not able to attend.
  6. Entry Fee
    6.1 No Entry Fee:
    Entry into the Children’s Week Awards is free of charge.
  7. Judging Criteria and Process
    7.1 Judging Panel:
    All entries will be reviewed and judged by a panel appointed by Children’s Rights Queensland. The judging panel will assess entries based on criteria related to the promotion of children’s rights, community impact, and alignment with Children’s Rights Queensland’s mission and objectives.
    7.2 Judging Decisions: The decisions of the judging panel are final and binding. Children’s Rights Queensland reserves the right to disqualify any entries that do not comply with these Terms and Conditions or do not meet the judging criteria.
    7.3 Conflicts of Interest: If a nominee has received payment from CRQ for developing a resource or completing an initiative, this aspect will be excluded from the awards application to avoid conflicts of interest.
  8. Prizes and Recognition
    8.1 Awards and Recognition:
    Finalists and winners will be recognised during the Children’s Week Awards ceremony. The types of prizes, recognitions, and categories will be outlined on the official website for each year’s awards.
  9. Publicity
    9.1 Publicity and Media Rights:
    By submitting an entry, entrants grant Children’s Rights Queensland the right to use their name, image, and any submitted materials (including photos, videos, and text) in any promotional or marketing activities related to the Children’s Week Awards and the work of Children’s Rights Queensland.
  10. Liability and Indemnity
    10.1 Liability:
    Children’s Rights Queensland will not be held responsible for any issues, problems, or incidents that arise prior to, during, or after the delivery of the award or any related activities.
    10.2 Indemnity: Entrants agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Children’s Rights Queensland, its agents, employees, and partners from and against any claims, losses, damages, or liabilities arising from participation in the Children’s Week Awards or the use of submitted materials.
  11. Modification and Cancellation
    11.1 Right to Modify or Cancel:
    Children’s Rights Queensland reserves the right to modify or cancel the Children’s Week Awards at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to circumstances beyond its control, or if the awards do not proceed as planned. Closing dates may also be changed.
  12. Governing Law
    12.1 Governing Law:
    These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes arising out of or related to the Children’s Week Awards will be resolved in accordance with Queensland law.
