Family Fun Day

Buai Mudh (Family House/Home) Thursday Island Neighborhood and Community Centre are partnering with Mura Moegi Kaziw Sagulau Playgroup (MMKS) and inviting families from within the Thursday Island Community to join in celebrating 2023 Children Week. The Community Centre and MMKS Program fall under the Mura Kosker Sorority NGO. We look after the Social and Emotional Wellbeing Portfolio throughout the Torres Strait region.
Family Fun Day at the Community Centre will involve Face Painting, Arts and Crafts, Gardening Stations, Story and Toy Stations as well as a yarning circle with parents and older children on the day.
Yarning circle topics to be around culturally safe conversations around Childrens Rights in QLD, Australia and Abroad. We also hope to receive feedback on what children know about their rights and how we can help improve awareness and education in the Torres Strait. Light catering will also be provided,
